Dotster uses PEM from SWsoft for their user control panel. PEM is a data center automation solution which delivers customized services through a multi-level, self-service customer control panel. PEM is a very flexible interface and offers users at least as many script options as other platforms, including cPanel and Fantastico. Pricing Dotster offers two hosting packages under $10 per month. Their Starter package is the lowest priced at $5.25/month (Linux), and offers 5GB of storage, and 250GB of bandwidth. The Standard package boasts 10GB of storage space, 500GB of bandwidth, up to 150 email accounts, and will host up to 50 domains, as well as up to 10 MySQL databases with remote access. All of their plans are available on either Linux or Windows platform. Dotster's Advanced package gives users the chance to host up to 100 domains under one hosting account, and offers unlimited access to all our pre-populated application scripts. Users can also run up to 15 databases with remote access, and host over 300 email accounts with 20GB of storage and 1,000GB of bandwidth. Their Pro package allows users to manage up to 250 domains, 500 email accounts and have all the benefits of the advanced package, but with 25GB storage and 1,500GB bandwidth. They offer maximum storage and bandwidth in a Premium package that gives users unlimited domains, databases, and emails in one account. Top-of-the-line, this is the most robust plan they offer, with 50GB of storage space and 2,000GB of bandwidth.
VPS: All of Dotster's VPS plans provide root access and are powered by VirtuozzoT technology, giving customers the ability to reboot their server independently. Virtuozzo partitions physical servers into virtual private servers, each with its own root access, users, IP addresses, memory, processes, files, applications, system libraries, and configuration files. Controlling the Virtuozzo platform is the industry-leading Plesk 8 control panel. Through a web-based interface, Plesk 8 allows VPS customers to set up and manage multiple websites, email accounts, DNS entries, and databases including MySQL and PostgreSQL.
Dotster boasts three Linux and three Windows based VPS plans. The plans feature disk space ranging from 10 GB to 50 GB, bandwidth ranging from 500 GB to 2,500 GB, and 1, 2, or 8 dedicated IP addresses. All the packages host 30 domains, however customers can upgrade to 100 domains for $3.75 per month or unlimited domains for only $7.50 per month. Other upgrades are also available, including Dr. Web Anti-Virus software and the Plesk Powerpack, which includes an anti-spam package, Tomcat support, and a robust application repository.
